won’t you tell me once again the way it used to feel back when my dreams were too naive to settle down i use to see it clear as day but years between have separated the things i saw from how i see them now bells are ringing but no one hears a sound I’ll keep singing when it's ashes to ash as we burn to the ground cause once upon a time is just a lie disguised by honest trust of what a man remembers used to be and memory is just a game where pieces vanish as they’re played and hands can change to what you want to see bells are ringing but no one hears a sound i’ll keep singing when it's ashes to ash as we burn to the ground and since there’s only so much space inside my head, my mind erases days to pave the way for one more year as all my fragile memories replay their lonely tragedies just waiting for the day they disappear bells are ringing but no one hears a sound i’ll keep singing it's ashes to ash as we burn to the ground

Unwinding 02:22
You're the bull inside the China shop I built up in my brain Tearing down the thoughts that I so carefully arranged Breaking down the matadors and crashing through the walls I am watching - watching as the world falls down. You're a hurricane careening through the city in my head Ripping through the corridors and tearing them to shreds A beautiful destruction, just to watch it all unfold You are dancing - dancing as the sun goes down You're the quiet ocean waters I am treading in my mind Silently unwinding all my memories in your tides I'm waving from the surface as the tension is undone I am waiting - waiting as the clock runs down

Kaleidoscope 04:06
this was never how i imagined it coming to the end of the line waiting for the silence to fold us in as we're falling into the sky the walls that kept us safely surrounded so fragile as they were torn apart the angels and the demons inside their cage til heaven set them loose on the stars and i tried believing it was all the same but the love you lived and the plans i made were as far from even as they’d ever be as we drifted outward to infinity so i prayed to no one as I fell towards home that beyond the chaos there’s a final hope caught in the kaleidoscope

Fuses 02:48
When I was a boy I never could explain How falling lines ignite like fuses in my brain Ticking down the time and burning in my bones Till from the broken rhymes a melody explodes Words are pouring out like lightning through my veins The current draws me in, caught underneath the waves Fill me to the brim I'm sure to overflow And when the levee breaks the flood will take me whole The ringing in my ears will carry me away Trapped inside the sounds that offer no escape
5.
The End 02:19
neurons are firing inside of my brain fighting for space in the darkness sparks flying high in a violent cascade ‘til fireworks fade and nothing remains my organs will forget their parts one by one the symphony fumbling to finish my heart will grow tired of beating it's drum and when it succumbs, my song will be sung they'll lay me in the ground leave their flowers with love and I'll rest my weary head to the sound of the birds up above I'd like to think that i'm more than my thoughts but i'm at a loss to explain how 'cause someday I'll just be a name on a rock lead in a plot that's been long since forgotten i'll lay there in the ground the world will turn as if I never was and my breath will drift endlessly on through the clouds with the birds up above
6.
In the end, it's all we can do to believe the scales will balance themselves again, where intention and accident meet, there must be a reason that In the end, it's all we can do to believe...

about

Ian Galipeau Keene, New Hampshire

I write songs about ideas and characters I find interesting. I've always been fascinated by the grey areas in life, and writing music is one of the best ways I've found to explore the nuances.
